PTI Students Inspired at Jackson Institute of Technology

On Thursday, June 12, 2025, students from the Pilot Training Institute (PTI) had the exciting opportunity to participate in a Technology Discovery Session hosted by the Jackson Institute of Technology (JIT), the official partner of NIIT India in Ghana. The event took place at JIT’s modern auditorium located at the Accra Ring Road campus.

Running from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the session was designed to ignite curiosity and expose students to the vast opportunities that exist in the world of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). For many of our students, it was a first-hand look into how technology is shaping industries and creating pathways for global careers.

From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the JIT team set the tone for an engaging experience. Their friendly welcome created an atmosphere where students felt both inspired and excited to explore the day's activities.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Joana Abbiw, General Manager of JIT, emphasized the crucial role technology plays in the modern world. “At JIT, we strongly believe that the future belongs to young people who embrace technology today,” she shared. “Our goal is to guide you on that first step and provide you with skills that open doors to opportunities globally.”

One of the most exciting moments of the day was the announcement of JIT’s maiden annual promotion for JHS and SHS graduates, themed #LetsdoIT. This new initiative is targeted at young graduates in their transition period, encouraging them to acquire valuable IT skills that will benefit them both academically and professionally.

This discovery session was part of JIT’s broader community engagement efforts aimed at promoting digital literacy and youth capacity building across Ghana. For PTI students, it was an opportunity not only to learn but also to envision a future where technology plays a central role in their personal and professional development.
