PILOT TECHNICAL INSTITUTE, the first training Institute established by the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) in 1970, now under the Pre-Tertiary Education Act (2020), Act 1049. The Institute is to provide both formal and informal training and retraining in employable skills to the youth and any other desiring skills.

Pilot Training Institute exists to provide competency-based vocational skills training through apprenticeship and retraining, including entrepreneurial skills to meet industrial demands, promoting self-employment and upgrading the skills and competencies of the people in the informal sector to meet acceptable standards.

The vision is to raise the level of training to meet the manpower requirements as being dictated by the demands of the modern technological world.
