In a bold step towards inclusive education and digital transformation, the Government of Ghana has launched a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering digital inclusivity in education. As part of this forward-looking program, learners at Pilot Technical Institute were recently provided with mobile tablet devices, a move designed to support and empower their academic journey in today’s technology-driven world.

The distribution of mobile tablets to students marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s efforts to bridge the digital divide and provide equal access to learning resources for all students, regardless of location or background. For trainees at Pilot Technical Institute, this initiative has opened new doors to interactive learning, research, and access to digital tools that enhance both classroom and self-paced study.

“These tablets have made it easier to access online materials and participate in digital learning platforms. It has changed the way I study and made learning more engaging,” shared by Frank Apau, one of the trainees in the Information Technology department, during an interview.

To evaluate the impact and ensure the effective utilisation of the devices, representatives from KA Technologies, one of the key partners supporting this initiative, paid a visit to the institute. During their visit, they interacted with staff and trainees, observed how the tablets are being integrated into classroom activities, and gathered feedback on the user experience.

A few trainees were interviewed about how the devices have impacted their studies. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting improvements in research capabilities, note-taking, and overall digital literacy.

The collaboration between the Government of Ghana, KA Technologies, and technical institutions like Pilot Technical reflects a shared commitment to progress and equity in education. It is a testament to what can be achieved when innovation meets intention.

As these learners explore their digital devices and discover new ways of learning, they are not just catching up with the digital age; they are preparing to lead it.
